Plant Identifications

 

Southern Oak (I assume above). I don't remember taking these photos, but I believe they are two different Southern Oaks on campus

The plant above is Henbit Deadnettle and is a fast-growing, winter annual herb in the mint family with square stems and pink to purple flowers.  It is native to Europe, Western Asia, and Northern Africa.





The one above is called Kratom and is a tropical evergreen of the Rubiaceae family native to Southeast Asia. I think this plant was also on TCU campus.

I could not find really anything about what type of vines are in the picture above right next to the Trinity River. I did find a lot of articles saying these vines were Muscadine grape vines but I am no completely sure.  Hopefully I am right because Muscadine is native to Texas.


This is a pansy flower and was planted by TCU... I could not find many plants besides grass and trees so I decided to add this one.

This plant above is a Lily Turf and is native to East Asia.
