Canoeing!

This canoeing trip took place quite a while ago, but I’ve been meaning to write a blog post about it ever since. It turned out to be the perfect way to spend a Saturday, offering a much-needed break from the usual routine and a chance to reconnect with nature in a very peaceful setting. As we paddled down the calm river, I felt completely immersed in the beauty around me. The sun was shining warmly, casting reflections on the water, with wildlife everywhere. We saw a few alligators basking on the banks and several turtles sunning themselves on logs. There were towering green trees lined the riverbanks, creating a canopy of shade that added to the overall serenity.

What struck me the most was how quiet and uncrowded the river was. It’s a bit surprising—and honestly, a little unfortunate—that many people in Fort Worth don’t even know this exists. But in a way, that’s also what made it so special. With so few people around, we were able to enjoy the sounds of nature uninterrupted. It felt like we had discovered a hidden oasis, right in our own backyard. I left feeling refreshed, grounded, and incredibly grateful for the experience.
